Marine-grade 6063-T6 aluminium with a 70-micron architectural powder coat.
Aluminium is the right frame material wherever weight matters or salt air is present. Ritzlane uses 6063-T6 marine-grade extrusion, which does not rust because it does not contain iron — the dull layer that forms on the surface is aluminium oxide, and it is self-healing. The powder coat is applied at 70 microns, roughly twice the thickness used on garden-centre furniture, and cured at 200°C after a five-stage chromate pre-treatment. That pre-treatment is the part nobody sees and the part that decides whether the coating is still on the frame in ten years.

Care
Wipe with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Never use abrasive pads or solvent-based cleaners — they cut the powder coat, and once the coat is broken the substrate is exposed.
Common questions
Does aluminium outdoor furniture rust?
No. Rust is iron oxide, and aluminium contains no iron. Aluminium does form a thin oxide layer on its surface, but that layer is transparent, hard, and self-healing — it protects the metal rather than degrading it, which is the opposite of what rust does to steel.
